Local Lessons
Whether you are a first time horse owner looking to gain a solid foundation in your horsemanship, or have owned horses your entire life and are looking for a fresh perspective and additional knowledge, Shannon invites you to trailer to her location or she will come to your location for private or group horsemanship lessons. Shannon can help you understand how to work with your horse, rather than against them. She believes a solid understanding of the basics for both horse and rider is something that will be with us throughout our entire horsemanship journey. Shannon works with riders of all disciplines and any and all experience levels. There is no set curriculum for lessons, but they do begin with a discussion and assessment of where the horse and rider currently are in their relationship and where they would like to go together. Not only does Shannon want to help you with what you feel you need help with, but also ensure both you and the horse have a clear understanding of what you are trying to accomplish. Horsemanship lessons often cover a myriad of foundational basics. In groundwork we can work on leading, tying, ground driving, handling of feet, trailer loading, saddle fit and bit function/use. In our mounted work we often cover such topics as softness and feel, balance, timing, biomechanics, transitions, trail riding, lateral work, confidence building and problem solving.
